Kenya dam explodes: More than 40 killed in Kamuchiri villageMore than 40 individuals have kicked the bucket in Kenya after a dam burst following weighty rains and flooding, authorities have said.
Homes were cleared away and streets were removed after the dam burst in Kamuchiri town in western Kenya. "42 dead, it's a modest approximation. There are even more in the mud," Nakuru region lead representative Susan Kihika told AFP news organization.
In excess of 100 individuals have been killed in floods that have crushed pieces of Kenya somewhat recently. Salvage groups are digging through the mud looking for survivors in the town close to the unassuming community of Mai Mahiu, around 60km (37 miles) from the capital Nairobi, neighborhood media reports say.
