Two individuals have been arrested after an escaping driver episode that crossed over 40km between Auckland's North Shore and Puhoi this evening. A police unit located a vehicle of interest traveling northward on the Northern Motorway at around 2.51pm and motioned for the driver to stop, a police representative said.
"They have taken off at speed and Police didn't seek after because of the way of driving." The Hawk helicopter then kept up with perception of the vehicle's developments north along Public Thruway 1. "At one phase, the vehicle crashed into an individual from the public's vehicle not long before the Johnstones Slope Passages, north of Orewa."
Police said nobody was harmed during the impact. Spikes were conveyed effectively inside the passage where the vehicle halted. Police said the male and female inhabitants were arrested and that the male driver would be accused of driving offenses. Public Expressway 1 was shut northward soon after the Johnstones Slope Passages. "Drivers are encouraged to anticipated delays or to take a backup course of action."
