Dhaka, Bangladesh:
Photojournalist Khaled Hossain Parag has been appointed as the personal photographer to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The appointment was confirmed through a notification issued by the Contract and Foreign Employment Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday.

According to the official gazette, Khaled Hossain Parag has been appointed on a contractual basis under the condition that he relinquishes any other existing professional, business, or institutional affiliations. He will receive a salary at the final step of Grade-9 of the National Pay Scale along with other entitled benefits. The appointment will remain effective from his date of joining for the duration of the Prime Minister’s term or until the Prime Minister’s pleasure, whichever occurs first.

With a career spanning nearly three decades in photojournalism and the socio-cultural arena, Parag began his professional journey at the Daily Dinkal. He currently serves as the Convener of the Pabna district branch of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (JASAS). He has also played a pioneering role in establishing various social and cultural organizations in Pabna, including Ajker Projonmo Forum, Head-e Creative Group, Pabna Photographers’ Forum, Pabna Cyclists’ Forum, MyPabna.com, Pabna Film Society, and the Pabna Young Journalists’ Forum.

Through his self-initiated platform "Chobir Golpo Bangladesh," Parag has spent nearly two decades voluntarily capturing and archiving rare and significant moments of the BNP and the Zia family. His most notable work includes the 2006 publication "Chobir Golpo," an extensive photo-documentation of Tarique Rahman’s union representative meetings, and "Deshnetri," which documents the political struggles of Begum Khaleda Zia.

In his new role, Khaled Hossain Parag will be responsible for the photographic documentation and archival of the Prime Minister’s official duties, political programs, state visits, and high-level meetings.
