Apple loses top spot in China market with shipments down 6.6% in Q1, data shows - ISN TV

Apple lost its crown as China's greatest cell phone dealer in the main quarter of 2024 as its cell phone shipments fell 6.6% from a year prior in the midst of extraordinary rivalry, primer information from research firm IDC displayed on Thursday.

Honor and Huawei were tied for the best position, with Honor's portion of the overall industry ascending to 17.1% and Huawei's portion moving to 17%, IDC said, while the iPhone producer's piece of the pie tumbled to 15.6%. The IDC pronounces a factual tie when the contrast between the portion of income or shipments between at least two sellers is 0.1% or less.

"Apple's cost advancements in the quarter couldn't alleviate the effect of the extreme rivalry from Android players," Arthur Guo, senior exploration examiner at IDC China said in the report. In general cell phone shipments in China rose 6.5% to 69.3 million units, as per IDC. Recently, information from research firm Contradiction showed Apple's cell phone shipments in China tumbled 19% in the principal quarter of the year, the most awful exhibition starting around 2020.
